Boosts

Boosts increase your visibility in Velvet — but only in specific areas.
They are single-use purchases, not a subscription.

What does a Boost do?

A Boost increases your visibility for 30 minutes by placing your profile:

✓ At the top of the List View
✓ At the top of Explore results

While boosted:
- Your Map bubble is highlighted in pink (only visible to you)
- Your position on the Map does not change

Boosts never override privacy rules — your distance display is always approximate.

Where can I buy Boosts?

Boosts can be purchased in two places:

A) From the Map

1. Open the Map
2. Tap the lightning icon (⚡) in the top left corner
3. Choose your Boost package and complete the purchase

After purchase:
- You are returned to the Map
- Your Boost balance appears as a number on the lightning icon
- The “Activate your Boost” pop-up appears instantly

B) From your Profile

Profile → Balance → Get Boosts

1. Go to your Profile
2. Open Balance
3. Tap “Get Boosts”
4. Complete the purchase

After purchase:
- You are automatically redirected to the Map
- The “Activate your Boost” pop-up appears instantly

How do I activate a Boost?

Boosts are activated via the Map.

### If you already have Boosts:

1. Open the Map
2. Tap the lightning icon (⚡)

➡️ A pink pop-up appears:
“Activate your Boost”

- Tap “Boost” → starts immediately (30 minutes)
- Swipe the pop-up away → do nothing for now

### If you don’t have Boosts yet:

1. Tap the lightning icon (⚡)
2. Purchase a Boost

➡️ After purchase, you are redirected to the Map
➡️ The pink “Activate your Boost” pop-up appears

### Buying from Profile:

If you buy Boosts via Profile → Balance → Get Boosts:

➡️ You are automatically redirected to the Map
➡️ The pink “Activate your Boost” pop-up appears

How do I see my Boost balance?

Your remaining Boosts are shown:

✓ On the Map:
- As a number inside a white circle on the lightning icon (⚡) in the top left corner

✓ In your Profile:
- Under Balance → Boost: [number]

This shows exactly how many Boosts you have left.

Can I use a Boost while in Ghost Mode?

No. Ghost Mode hides your profile everywhere, so Boosting is disabled.

Purchasing is still possible, but activation requires Ghost Mode to be off.

Does Boost show my exact location?

Never. Boosts only change ranking in Explore & ListView.
Your map bubble remains approximate and privacy-protected.

Does a Boost guarantee that everyone sees me?

A Boost gives you maximum visibility during those 30 minutes.

Your profile is placed at the top of the List View and Explore, so significantly more people can see you.

However, visibility can still be influenced by:
- User filters
- User activity
- Ghost Mode (on/off)
- Your distance to other users

Boosts are designed to maximize your exposure — but they do not override personal settings or filters.

Can I activate multiple Boosts in a row?

No. Only one Boost can be active at a time.

If you try to activate another Boost while one is running, you will see:
“A Boost is already active”

Once your current Boost ends, you can activate the next one.

Do Boosts expire if unused?

No. Unused Boosts stay in your balance until you use them.

Refund policy

Boosts are non-refundable, even if:

• You delete your account

• You uninstall the app

• You do not use your Boosts
