Groups
Groups let you connect with people who share the same interests, hobbies, or topics.
You can join public groups, request access to private groups, or create your own.
Joining Groups
You can join groups in two ways:
Public Groups
You can join instantly — no approval needed.
Private Groups
You must request to join.
Your request appears to the admin
The admin can approve or decline your request.
Posting & Interacting
In groups, members can:
Send messages
Send photos
Send documents
Share links
(Unless the admin restricted these permissions.)
You can also view all shared content:
Header → Media, Documents, Links
Reporting a group
As a member, you can report a group anytime:
Option 1: Inside the header → Leave Group
Option 2: In the chat → Three dots (…) → Leave Group
Leaving a group removes the chat from your list.

Deleting messages (Single messages only)
7) Deleting Messages
Members cannot delete the entire group chat.
However, you can delete your own messages:
Long-press your message
Confirm deletion
The message is removed for all members
What if I delete my account?
When you delete your Velvet account, your entire chat history is permanently removed.
This means:
All your messages disappear from the chat
Your profile is removed
Your name, photos, and all interactions are erased
The conversation will look as if you were never part of it
The other person will NOT see any message like “User deleted account.”
Your presence simply disappears from their chat.
Deleted accounts cannot be restored and all purchases (Boosts, Pins, Ghost Mode) remain non-refundable.
Does Velvet read my messages?
No.
Velvet does not access your chats unless you file a report involving:
Harassment
Minors
Violence or threats
Scams
Illegal content
We do not scan or monitor messages automatically.
Notifications
You can turn on/off Notifications under header -> Notifications checkbox
Viewing Members
Inside the group:
Header → Members
You can see all current group members.
Sharing sensitive content
You are responsible for what you send.
Allowed:
Consensual adult content
Not allowed:
Minors
Violence
Illegal content
Non-consensual sharing of private images
Reports are handled immediately and can lead to instant account removal.
