Purchases & Payments

Velvet is free to download and use.
Optional in-app purchases allow you to upgrade your experience - but they are never required to use the app.

You can purchase three types of items:

1) Boosts

One-time visibility boosts.

  • Push your profile to the top of:

    • Map List View

    • Explore results

  • Each Boost lasts 30 minutes after activation

  • You can buy multiple Boosts and store them as a balance

You buy Boosts in:

  • Your Profile (Boost Balance → Get Boosts)

  • The Map/ListView (via the pink lightning icon)

2) Pins (VelvetVibe)

Pins are short posts you publish on VelvetVibe.

  • Each Pin requires 1 Pin credit

  • Pins are visible for a limited time

  • You can buy Pin packages and use them whenever you like

You buy Pins in:

  • VelvetVibe → Add Pin → Get Pins

  • Your Profile (Pin Balance → Get Pins)

3) Ghost Mode

Ghost Mode hides you from all discovery areas (Map, List View, Explore) for a set period, while you still can use the app normally.

You can purchase:

  • 24 hours of Ghost Mode

  • 30 days of Ghost Mode

You buy Ghost Mode in:

  • Your Profile → Ghost Mode

How are payments processed?

All payments are handled by your app store provider:

  • Apple App Store (iOS)

  • Google Play Store (Android)

This means:

  • You pay using the methods linked to your Apple/Google account

  • Velvet never sees or stores your credit card or bank data

  • Prices are shown in your local currency, including applicable taxes where required

Where can I see my purchased items?

You can check your balances under Profile:

  • Boost Balance → shows how many Boosts you have left

  • Pin Balance → shows how many Pins you can still post

  • Ghost Mode → shows if it is active and the “Active until…” date

If a purchase was successful but your balance did not update, see Payment Issues below.

Refund policy

Except where required by applicable law:

  • All in-app purchases on Velvet are final and non-refundable

  • Deleting the app or your account does not refund purchases

  • Unused Boosts, Pins or remaining Ghost time are not refunded

For accidental or duplicate charges, you can contact:

  • Apple Support (for iOS purchases)

  • Google Play Support (for Android purchases)

You can also contact Velvet Support if you need help understanding a charge.

Payment issues

If something goes wrong with a purchase, try this:

  1. Make sure you have a stable internet connection

  2. Check if your payment method is valid in your Apple/Google account

  3. Restart Velvet and check your Boost/Pin/Ghost balance again

If money was charged but the item did not appear:

  • Take a screenshot of the store receipt / transaction

  • Contact Velvet Support via the in-app Support form

  • Include:

    • Your username

    • Date of purchase

    • What you tried to buy

    • Screenshot of the receipt

We will help check your account and, if needed, direct you to Apple or Google for billing assistance.

What happens to purchases if I delete my account or the app?

  • Deleting the app from your phone does not cancel purchases or remove your store history

  • Deleting your Velvet account will permanently remove:

    • Your profile

    • Friends

    • Chats

    • Groups

    • Pins

But:

  • Used or unused Boosts, Pins and Ghost time are not refunded

  • If you later create a new account, previous balances do not transfer automatically

Security & Fraud

Velvet never:

  • Saves your card details

  • Sees your full payment information

All financial data is handled securely by:

  • Apple

  • Google

If you see suspicious payments:

  • Check your Apple/Google purchase history

  • Change your Apple/Google password if needed

  • Contact their support and then Velvet Support if relevant

If another user asks you to send them money:

  • Do not pay

  • Block and report the user immediately

What can I buy on Velvet

Future subscriptions

Currently, Velvet only offers one-time purchases (Boosts, Pins, Ghost Mode).

If we add subscriptions or a Premium plan in the future:

  • They will be clearly labelled as subscriptions

  • You will be able to manage and cancel them in:

    • Apple Subscription Settings

    • Google Play Subscriptions
